A smart switch can preserve familiar wall control for a whole circuit. A smart bulb normally needs continuous power to remain reachable, so switching it off at the wall takes it offline. Light Quality and Effects

Smart bulbs win when the light itself needs to change colour, shift colour temperature, or act independently from other bulbs in the same room. A switch can dim a ceiling circuit, but it cannot make one lamp warm white and another blue. For bedrooms, lounges, and accent lamps, bulbs offer far more atmosphere.

Installation and Cost

A compatible replacement bulb is usually the simpler retrofit. A wired switch requires checks for voltage, load, box depth, neutral availability, regional certification, and whether the work should be completed by a qualified electrician. One switch may control several ordinary lamps, while individual smart bulbs provide separate control at each fitting.
